Hell Rell: Calls Himself “Ruger Rell”
The man behind the Hell Rell name is actually Durell Mohammad, a New Yorker who was born and raised in the Bronx. His date of birth is May 5, 1974 and is a member of “The Diplomats”, a group that specializes in rap. The group records under the group’s own label, “Diplomat Records” in collaboration with Koch Entertainment. Hell Rell’s initial album was “For the Hell of It” which is due for an October 2006 release.
Like his fellow artist Tony Yayo, Hell Rell served time in the Clinton Maximum Security Correctional Facility and also in other prison facilities for possession of drugs. He stayed behind bars in 2004 and was released the following year. In his mixtapes where he sings about Clinton Max, he refers to this time in prison. With humor, he also refers to himself as “Ruger Hell.”
The Diplomats – also known as DipSet – have what the recording industry calls mixtapes and the group has released Dipset albums going by the titles “Diplomatic Immunity 1 and 2”, Duke Da God Presents”, and Juelz Santana’s “What the Game’s Been Missing.” Hell Rell has his own mixtape called “Best of Hell Rell 2005”, but “Streets Wanna Know” is his only official solo mixtape.
Hell Rell’s talents landed him in a film, “Killa Season” and starred with Cam Ron, Juelz Santana and other members of The Diplomats.
